High & Lonesome go global
With the Woodshed Session freshly produced, Slim checked out mp3.com.au with a view to upload some new material. High & Lonesome's debut CD, Broken Wheel Cafe, was made available there for free streaming and downloading, about two years back. At the time, some of the tracks charted quite well, with an occasional top ten for their alt country genre.
Slim was surprised to find that High & Lonesome were still charting as #3 band in alt country, and nearly fell out of his armchair when the statistics showed that there were 279 downloads in the previous 30 days. Unbelievable! Incredible!
The penny finally dropped as to why this site's Google Analytics reports have consistently shown visits from all over the world, and especially in the US. The new site has so far received more than 36,000 visits since it was launched. Chips reckoned it was just the result of random accidental clicks, but now we know that a lot of it is from click throughs from mp3.com.au.
So High & Lonesome has a truly global audience. If we could just get them to come to a gig at the same time we could fill a concert hall!
