Robbie Watts Benefit
Chips reports..
Over the weekend I played at the Robbie Watts benefit at the Corner Hotel in Richmond with Mick Coates' 'Unwanted Men in Black'.
The Corner Hotel is a massive venue with two stages operating in rotation. With about 10 punk/rock bands and The Unwanted Men in Black I think the punters were ready for a bit of light relief.
They certainly got it with Mick Coates' and company in fine fettle. The gig just 'went off' - the only band during the night to get an encore! (at least to my knowledge - but then again there was a lot of beer drinking going on.)
The beer fridge for the performers was duly topped up all evening - i reckon we were going thru a slab every 10 minutes. Running through a barrage of Johnny Cash numbers from Folsom Prison, Jackson, Ring of Fire and Ghost Riders the men in Black just slayed em.
A great nite all round really. Picture courtesy of Tim Chmielewski.
