Boat sheds at Pirate Bay.

There was once a local vibrant fishing industry here, but it’s mostly all gone now.

It’s been replaced by jetboat sea cliff tours and game fishing for the magnificent Blue Fin Tuna, whose bounty was vastly dimished when we gave the Japanese Fishing Corporation open slather for a decade or more.

The same sort of thing which helped to kill off the fishing economies of Lorne and Apollo Bay. But what the hey, that’s progress!
